Premises Information Box™ (PIB)® System
Providing essential information to firefighters can enhance their response plan in the event of an incident

Designed to an exacting specification, the Premises Information Box™(PIB)® offers a secure recognised focal point for the provision of premises plans and information to fire fighters in the event of an incident.  The PIB® enables firefighters immediate access through their Gerda One Key® System.

There is a choice of specification, either standard or high security.  Both offer a high level of security and the high security (HSS PIB C) is tested to STS 205 BR2.   The unique multidimensional shape of the Gerda key is trademarked and is linked to a registered key system with the cutting of keys through authorised channels only.

The Grenfell Tower Inquiry: Phase 1 Report Overview in October 2019, highlighted that owners and managers of every high-rise residential building should be required by law to draw up premises plans and information and secure them in a Premises Information Box™ (PIB)® System.

To assist customers in this, we have launched a NEW Premises Plans Service.  Information is gathered through a survey with input from knowledgeable professionals , with emergency response and fire safety experience. This information is presented in the format recognised by the Fire and Rescue Services for use by fire crews, when responding to an emergency. This process ensures that customers have the information in the format of their building,  for use by responding fire crews in the event of an emergency. It complies with Grenfell Phase I enquiry recommendations and takes into account national Fire & Rescue Services emergency response operational procedures and the Fire and Rescue Services Act 2004 (7.2.d).  To find out more please reply to this email with your requirements.

The PIBs can be installed by third parties without the use of the key.  End user authorised key signatories receive the keys under separate delivery.  As part of the PIB® System, end users are additionally provided with an Emergency Response Pack Guidance (ERPG) manual free of charge.  The ERPG explains what information is required in the premises plans and how to collate these in a recognised format which will be deployed by attending firefighters in the event of an emergency.  This is for either General Buildings or High Rise Residential Buildings.  The 2020 HRRB ERPG is the latest edition to the ERPG series and has been formulated with Fire & Rescue Service operational input.
